As we all know that civil engineering is the most important stream in building infrastructure of the cities , towns , villages , plots , etc. Till the date to the year 2017 all the civil engineers were not aware about the technologies which can be used in Civil Engineering. Civil Engineering is the leading stream in which aspects like Metro Construction , Town Planning , Measurement Of Vacant Plots are being planned and developed through various requirements. Also this stream offers most number of employments in Engineering sector. There are many new Upcoming Trends in Civil Engineering which are being discussed by resourceful people in civil engineering stream from the year 2018. Some of the points are described below and some we will describe in our next blog.

8 Latest Upcoming Trends in Civil Engineering :- Here is a compilation of latest trends in civil engineering from the year 2018 that you should know - 1. Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) Will Become Mainstream - Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are the newest trends in civil engineering to watch out for in 2018. Although the technology itself isn't new, its applicability vis-a-vis civil and construction industry is gaining immense popularity. VR and AR are forms of immersive media to visualize the end results and are increasingly being used by both end users and the civil engineering project teams alike. 2. Building information modelling - This is just the beginning, and the applications of VR and AR technologies are expected to broaden way beyond expected in 2018 and the years ahead, making them the backbone of numerous civil and construction projects. Building Information Modeling (BIM) Will Be Used in Large-scale Applications 3. Demand for Sustainable Designs Will Rise - Sustainable design is the most significant civil engineering trends in 2018. It is a movement that enjoys much support from global organizations and even the government. The demand for smart materials, intelligent electrical grids, smart buildings with embedded sensors, and other revolutionary technologies is giving civil engineers the push to innovate sustainable designs that are forward-looking. One of the key areas of focus is zero-energy housing. Insulating homes with double skin facade and integrating PV panels that facilitate better utilization of captured energy. 4. Drones Will Remain a Mainstay - Drone market has seen a sturdy growth in 2017. The trend is expected to continue even this year and sales of drones is likely to exceed $12 billion by 2021! Commercial use of drones has reached an important milestone with technological enhancements making drones more reliable than before. Drones are steadily making its presence felt in in civil engineering industry, greatly influencing the design, development, and surveying of civil engineering projects.

These 4 Points Are Upcoming Trends In Civil Engineering , Remaining 4 Are Discussed In The Next Blog.

Urbanization, habitat, environment, infrastructure and sustainability are major global challenges of the 21st century. By planning, exploiting of resources, building, and maintaining, civil engineers and relevant adjacent disciplines have been carrying a large responsibility for the existing environmental problems. Civil engineers are responsible for 70% of all material uses in the world, and civil construction has been dominating the growth of the developing world for the next decades, with enormous impact on the global climate as well as the distribution of wealth and quality of living in the world. Today a variety of sustainable construction concepts have been developed and discussed. Recently a UNEP report was published, which provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges and potentials in the future from a scientific and industrial point of view. Sustainable solutions based on abundantly available resources (pozzolana and clay) or on renewable instead of limited industrial by-products (e.g. agricultural waste ashes) and new construction technologies do exist. By applying, promoting and developing the implementation of the existing knowledge into real life constructions, civil engineers also hold the key for the mitigation of the global challenges. Using best practice sustainable construction solutions is particularly of highest importance in the developing world, since the implementation at an early stage creates the highest leverage for positive effects.

Throughout the centuries, human society has followed an adventurous, uphill, but fruitful course of development. During this course, one of the most useful – and used – tools in the service of human communities has been civil engineering, along with architecture, which goes hand in hand with. Conducting, designing, creating, innovating, achieving great works in infrastructure and construction of buildings, it has turned out to be a “civilization machine” . It has, literally and metaphorically, constructed the background of each and every human civilization that has appeared and evolved on earth. Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Babylonians, Chinese, and so many others along the human history, have prevailed for long on their grounds and the surrounding areas due to the not only impressive but also useful structures they achieved in creating – thus giving a boost in the progress of their civilizations.

Civil engineering is poised to undergo major transition in 2018; thanks to the advancement in technology which is the driving force behind the changes this industry will witness. Some of the latest technologies we cover in this write-up which were once dubbed sci-fi have already begun finding a way into the mainstream industry. Since the last decade, the focus remained on smart materials and energy-efficient buildings. But, in recent times, civil engineers are placing more emphasis on computer vision, BIM, virtual reality, sustainability, IoT, and 3D printing technologies that are parallelly gaining prominence. In this write-up, we provide a mash-up of latest developments in civil engineering that are becoming latest trends.

All the technical education students , youth entrepreneurs , project developers may be aware about the subject namely as ‘ IoT – Internet Of Things ‘.

What is IoT ?

What Google Says - The Internet of things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines provided with unique identifiers (UIDs) and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.

What I Say – IoT i.e. Internet Of Things is a concept which can be used to connect the hardware components to network or in simple words IoT is used for connecting hardware components through internet.

IoT is being a platform for all the developers who develop basic or complex coding of projects such as Security Systems , Hardware Software Interface , Smart Systems , etc. But as technology is getting updated day by day the newest one becomes older within few days. As far as concern many of the smart systems developed now-a-days are being developed using the concept of IoT. In security system many of smart systems such as smart dustbin systems , IoT based trash monitoring , smart lock system , home automation are developed using concept of IoT and are used as a smart system in smart cities. Now-a-days many of the Builders / Construction Management Architect / Building Developer in Civil Stream uses smart automation systems , smart door lock , smart lockers , smart telecaller , smart lift systems , smart parking systems in building and most of these concepts are build and developed using concept of IoT i.e. Internet of Things. In this blog we have tried to describe that IoT – Internet of Things is getting outdated day by day and new technologies such as IoE , Blockchain are upcoming technologies in the Market of Technology .

Many of the project developers and analysts uses hardware components like arduino , raspberry pi , nodemcu , various types of IC's , sensors , etc. These all hardware components can be get connected to the network and report to the main system using concept of IoT.

In the blog I've given some basic information and simple meaning / definition of IoT - Internet of Things. But have anyone thought about why I've mentioned that IoT is being a common platform now-a-days ? Yes I've mentioned it because now-a-days many of the " UG & PG students ( Under Graduation & Post Graduation students ) uses concept of IoT to develop mini projects such as IoT based trash monitoring system , IoT based door security system , IoT based light control system , IoT based security systems & many more such things " , But IoT being a concept is getting very common now-a-days can be proved by this statement. Also new technologies , concepts such as Blockchain and IoM are getting introduced in the Market of Technology. In our next technical blog we will give information about Blockchain Concept as well as we will try to describe some projects which are developed using Blockchain Concept. " Till Then Take Care "
