So in today's blog we have described about Construction Industry And Economy. We all know that Engineering stream is very important aspect of Indian economy. But as a Civil Engineer I would like to describe about Civil Stream and the economy related information through my blogs. Also many of the blogs of mine such as " Technology in Civil Stream " , " Latest Upcoming Trends In Civil Engineering " are posted on the same website , you can also read those blogs , links are already given in the starting of this blog. Construction industry is an important sector that contributes greatly in the economic growth of a nation. It is an important indicator of the development because it creates investment opportunities across various related sector. It also helps in socio-economic development of the country. India's construction industry contributes approximately 9% to GDP and employees almost 50 million people. Construction industry is a leading sector in which not only private players are interested but also the government shows high interest. Stamp duty i.e. Tax on property transaction forms an important source of revenue generation. To fuel the economy a nation must have good infrastructure in terms of housing, commercial complexes, business centres, roads and railways which acts like arteries and veins of the nation and pumps the economy, educational institutions, other related infrastructure. These all helps the people to develop and achieve better standard of living and also attracts numerous international businesses, down the line increasing the growth. To achieve this government announces special economic zones, industrial development corporations, townships and lucrative discounts on the taxes in order to invite global players to invest in the country. A well constructed infrastructure creates a healthy environment to work in, thereby increasing productivity and flexibility of the labour forces. There are mainly three segments in the construction industry like the real estate construction which includes residential and commercial construction, secondly infrastructure including roads, railways, airports, ports and thirdly industrial construction. Construction industry has a interdisciplinary role which includes many skilled and unskilled people as well as technocrats from various disciplines. To increase the speed of construction it needs earth moving equipment’s, to lift the material to heights it needs lifts and cranes, to power the buildings and industries it needs DGs and electricity, for lighting purpose electricians , for ventilation purpose HVAC systems, specialist for environment conservation, material suppliers, logistics, small pity workers for doing small interior works, carpenters, fabricators and many more. Let's take an example of a building construction site. Primarily there will be need of earthmoving equipment’s for excavation purpose and trucks for disposal of excavation materials. As the buildings foundation starts there comes need of carpenters for shuttering, fitters for steel work and skilled unskilled labours for concerting. As building touch its height there are already many people getting numerous jobs in there, technocrats from various fields will be performing their jobs of electrification, lifts, solar based water heaters and to name a few. Looking at this scene there will be new business uprooting in the vicinity, investment will start growing and people will start getting employment and small businesses will be set up. And this construction sets its own ecosystem. From this example it can be seen that how small construction work fuelled a economy around itself. Taking this to a broader scale on a national level wherein the projects will be on bigger scale, funds will be in billions and employment will be in millions. No doubt because of the interdisciplinary role of construction industry it forms backbone of the economy.

Also Team The Technovations shown some supports to Central Government and State Government by appealing people not to go out and " Stay Home , Stay Safe ".
